What do you think about Jesus?

LUKE 24:1-12

According to some, he was the one who lived the loveliest life ever seen on earth; but then died. That will not do. Jesus is not dead; He is alive. He is not merely a hero of the past; He is a living reality of the present.

There are those who regard Jesus simply as a man whose life must be studied, His words examined, His teaching analyzed. There is a tendency to think of Christianity, and Jesus merely in terms of something to be studied. The tendency may be seen in the quite simple fact of the extension of the study group, and the extinction of the prayer meeting.Beyond doubt, study is necessary, but Jesus is not merely someone to be studied; Jesus is to be met, and lived with every day. He is not only a figure in a book, even If that book is the greatest in the world; He is a living presence.
There are those who see in Jesus the perfect pattern and example. He is that, but a perfect example can be the most heart-breaking thing in the world. For centuries, the birds gave an example of flight, but not until modern times could man fly. Jesus is not only the pattern, and example. He helps us, guides us, and strengthens us to follow that pattern and example. Jesus is not simply a model for life; He is a living presence to help us to live.
It may well be that our Christianity has lacked an essential something, because we too may have been looking among the dead for Him who is alive.

Life Application:   What is your personal relationship with Jesus like? Do you fellowship, talk about everything, just spend time together? Make every effort to listen to Him as He speaks to you. I believe we will all be in Heaven very soon!

Praise/Prayer: Dear Father, I am so thankful that You got a hold of me when I was a little boy, and kept Your hand on all my life. I love Jesus, and all that He has done, and still does for me. I love the Holy Spirit who is a friend, and a guide, and I long to see Jesus. All my life I have heard about Him, and someday I will see God my Father, and Jesus my savior, and friend. Amen!
