Schools of Prayer
The School of PrayerSW Vermont, Portland Dec 12, 2017
The School of Prayer is a program that is specially designed by IPMI to help churches struggling with prayer or looking for ways to build strong and stable prayer ministries to facilitate their spiritual growth and development. As such, each school of prayer provides pastors and their congregations an opportunity to explore and implement important Biblical and Theological concepts dealing with prayer, taking into consideration the particular needs of each congregation. Each School of Prayer typically consists of a series of three sessions led by a facilitator from IPMI. Since its establishment in New York City in 2000, the Schools of Prayer has been hosted annually in the different boroughs of New York City and Long Island; Patterson, New Jersey, and Georgia.
What pastors are saying about The School of Prayer
“I am grateful for the encouragement and support that IPMI, through programs like the School of Prayer, has brought to the continued growth and renewal of our church. Several years ago after hosting an IPMI Schools of Prayer, we decided to add the Thursday morning prayer meeting which has benefited our congregation as well as those in our community. We thank Rev. Newton Gabbidon for coming along side us in the task of training leaders for the harvest. It has been our privilege to see the work of the Holy Spirit in our midst. To God be the Glory!” (Rev. Richard Brockway, Former Senior Pastor, Hempstead Assembly of God Church, Hempstead, Long Island, New York)
“Rehoboth Open Bible Church has hosted the annual School of Prayer for a number of years. The school is such an important part of our ministry that it is now a fixture on the calendar. We now speak of it as “our” school, with “guest presenters” from IPMI. It is a joy to have presenters who have spent time in the study coming to a biblical understanding of the matter of prayer. They come schooled with good stuff with which to educate us. It is also a joy to know that these people have also given themselves to the manner and practice of prayer, so they come as fervent practitioners of prayer, leading the school in prayer, with the heart, in spirit, and in truth. The school helps the church as individuals grow in their understanding and practice of prayer and as they apply it to the church’s prayer ministry.” (Rev. Dr. H. Dennis Campbell, Former Senior Pastor, Rehoboth Open Bible Church, Brooklyn, New York)
