IPMI I New York City I April 6, 2018.

Ivylin Leslie has gone to be with the Lord. The truth is, she has been with the Lord for a long time even while she was with us here on earth. But now she is enjoying His presence unencumbered.

She was a founding member of the IPMI and sat on its Board for over 21 years until her passing. Those of us who knew her through the work and ministry of IPMI benefitted from her faithful service in so many ways. Her administrative skills allowed her to organize and coordinate many of our events, chief of which was the Annual Prayer Breakfast in New York where she supervised the reception and attendance processes with stern discipline but with a gracious smile. She was equally present at our annual Prayer Summits in October ensuring that all the “I”s were dotted and the “T”s crossed. She also added her promotional support in putting on the mid-year Pastors and Leaders Prayer Symposium. Indeed she was one of the main encouragers of the President ensuring that the details of his vision were accomplished.

IPMI also benefitted from her association with her Church and other Ministries with which she was involved. It is no secret that her local Church, Hempstead Assembly of God, where she also served as an ordained Minister, was one of the chief supporters of IPMI. Many of their members attended our public functions, they have hosted our visitors, given financially to our needs, and remained constantly in prayer for the Ministry.

Of great significance to IPMI also was her membership with the International Third World Leaders Association. She benefitted greatly from the personal mentorship of the late Dr. Myles Munroe who personally spoke highly of her spiritual dedication and of her maturity as a servant of God.  In more recent years she founded the non-profit organization called “Loving Heart Caring Hands Ministry International”  which allowed her to give full expression to the passion of her heart toward others and she did it selflessly to the honor and glory of God and for the good of the people.

But as much as she gave to the Church, to her friends and to others she scarcely knew, there was no dedication and love more endearing than her love for her family. She was deeply committed to her husband, who pre-deceased her and her children. It is this experience with her own household that drew to her other sons and daughters who remained grateful to her for sharing her mothering passion and love to the very end.

Indeed, the Lord was with her during all her ministry here on earth. And now I can just imagine Him on Thursday evening 15th March, opening the gate of Heaven and beckoning to her saying,  like He did to St John the Apostle, “Come up here, and I will show you the things that must occur afterward.” (Rev.4:1).

Hear the words of some of her colleagues who worked with her in IPMI:

President of IPMI Newton Gabbidon remarked,  “She demonstrated unwavering loyalty and commitment to IPMI and her support of its mission has served as a great model of the ideal member for others within and outside IPMI to emulate.”

Lilly Webb her dear friend commented, “Wow,  I will certainly miss that face at registration for IPMI events.  She ran a good, good race.  The Lord gives and He takes away, blessed be the name of the Lord.  We salute you, Sister Lyn.”

And Brother Tim Brown fellow Board Member summed it up well, "She was an outstanding contributor to the work of IPMI while also being a very valuable member at her home church, Hempstead Assembly of God.  She was approachable and very reliable and conducted all her affairs at a high professional level. We will miss her greatly and we mourn her loss, along with her family."

But today, no greater commendation could be given to our dearly beloved Sister than that given by Jesus Himself, “Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your Lord.” (Matt.25:21)

RIP.
