Brooklyn, New York, August 9, 2016. Over 2000 Christians from across the United States and around the world will converge on New York City on Monday, October 24, 2016, 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM, for a united Global Leaders Prayer Gathering at the Brooklyn Tabernacle. The New York City Leadership Center, Concerts of Prayer Greater New York, Christian Union, CONLICO and New York City Intercessors are collaborating with Intercessory Prayer Ministry International (IPMI) to host this historic prayer event.

The Global Leaders Prayer Gathering is being planned in conjunction with the MOVEMENT DAY GLOBAL CITIES 2016 Congress, which will take place at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center from October 25-27. The Congress will consist of seminars and discussions for Church and civic leaders, pertaining to issues affecting Cities all across the World.

It is expected that the spiritual intensity of the united prayer and evangelistic fervor of the Church community will stir New York City, impact the nation and spread throughout the world. Global issues to be our focus of prayer will include: the threat of indiscriminate terrorist attacks on the lives of individuals, businesses, cities and nations; natural disasters, plagues and diseases; economic crisis, poverty and social oppression; child abuse especially among children at risk through sexual molestation, human trafficking and prostitution; family and gender issues; issues of globalization and the threat to national sovereignty; heightened transnational religious tensions and increasing incidents of Christian persecution.

We also will pray, asking God to relieve tensions across America between the races, between police and the citizenry, and especially the critical issues surrounding the Presidential elections in November.

The Keynote speaker will be Dr. Tony Evans from Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship (Dallas, Texas) and The Urban Alternative. He promotes an agenda for God’s comprehensive rule over every sphere of life including family, community, and society.

Worship leader for the occasion is Dr. Robert Sterns, President of Eagles Wings Ministry.

Other guests include Dr. Mac Pier, Founder and CEO of the New York City Leadership Center and host of Movement Day Global Cities and Mr. Graham Power of South Africa, Founder of Global Day of Prayer, and the global movement “Unashamedly Ethical.”
Both plenary and small group sessions over the two-hour meeting will allow for maximum participation of attendees including young people and children.

The publication, Prayer Global, in commemoration of this event will feature articles on prayer, the history of revivals and the present day challenges faced by the Church in promoting redemptive change and moral reformation in communities, cities, and nations through prayer and evangelism.

Admission to the October 24, 2016, Global Leaders Prayer Gathering is free and all are invited to participate. You cannot afford to miss this historic prayer event. Seating is limited. Register today!

Dr. C. B. Peter Morgan is a founding board member of Intercessory Prayer Ministry International.  He is serving as the Chairman of the October 24, 2016, Global Leaders Prayer Gathering Steering Committee.
