IPMI 2019 Christmas Message

For a majority of Christians around the world, the Christmas season is a time of reflection on the most significant event of human history: the advent of Jesus’ birth in a lonely Bethlehem stable over 2000 years ago (John 3:13).  In fulfillment of the Scriptures, Jesus Christ, the Lord of Glory, willingly left His heavenly splendor and came to our fallen world for the only purpose of rescuing men, women, and children from their sins.

The story of the Gospel is the fulfillment of that purpose through Christ’s death on a cross, His resurrection from the grave and triumphant ascension to heaven, where He remains seated at the right hand of the Father, performing one of His most important tasks of reconciling the nations to the Father, through His high priestly ministry of intercession. Here at Intercessory Prayer Ministry International (IPMI), we are deeply grateful to the Lord for the opportunity He has offered us to share in this beautiful ministry of reconciliation through the various ways He has enabled the organization to facilitate and promote prayer and fasting locally and internationally in pursuit of His redemptive purposes in the nations.

This Christmas season, as we pause to reflect on the miracle of the advent of Christ’s coming and its relevance to our troubled world, we would also like to take the time to reflect on the work of IPMI during the year.

IPMI continues to develop as a leader in the Global Prayer Movement with representatives now in eleven countries, and with the establishment of IPMI TV in 2019, we expect the global footprint of the organization to increase in the years ahead as this initiative continues to develop.  During the year,  IPMI also made progress with the development of a curriculum for the Schools of Prayer, which will result in the publication of a series of books on prayer, the first of which will be available soon. The Schools of Prayer is a program specially designed for congregations, particularly those struggling with prayer. You will hear more about these developments in 2020.

One of IPMI's greatest assets is the good relationships it has fostered over the years with pastors, churches, and other organizations both locally and internationally through the hosting of events like the Annual Pastors and Leaders Prayer Symposium here in New York City and Annual Jamaica Diaspora Day of Prayer and Fasting (JDOP), which facilitates prayer and fasting among Jamaican Christians living in the United Kingdom, Canada and across the United States for spiritual renewal and transformation in the homeland.  During 2019, the organization sought to strengthen further those relationships through increased collaboration with significant organizations like Lead New York and Movement.Org aimed at facilitating revival and the advancement of the Gospel in the region and around the world.

But as we reflect on these glorious achievements of 2019 and the prospects for further growth and development of IPMI in 2020 and beyond, we remain indebted to our dedicated team of leaders and volunteers and faithful partners, whose stellar contributions have enabled IPMI to stay committed to its mission of impacting lives and transforming nations through this vital ministry of prayer and fasting.

I thank you for your support during 2019 and wish you and your family a wonderful Christmas and a prosperous and happy New Year.

With kind wishes,

Newton Gabbidon

President & CEO
