US Military Airlifts Embassy Personnel From Haiti, Bolsters Security

The U.S. military said on Sunday it has carried out an operation in Haiti to airlift non-essential embassy personnel from the country and added U.S. forces bolster embassy security, as Caribbean nation reels under a state of emergency.

The operation was the latest sign of Haiti's troubles as gang violence threatens to bring down the government and has led thousands to flee their homes.

"This airlift of personnel into and out of the embassy is consistent with our standard practice for embassy security augmentation worldwide, and no Haitians were on board the military aircraft," the U.S. military's Southern Command said in a statement.

Haiti entered a state of emergency last Sunday after fighting escalated while Prime Minister Ariel Henry was in Nairobi seeking a deal for the long-delayed U.N.-backed mission.

Kenya announced last year it would lead the force but months of domestic legal wrangling have effectively placed the mission on hold.

On Saturday, the U.S. State Department said Secretary of State Antony Blinken spoke with Kenyan President William Ruto about the Haiti crisis and the two men underscored their commitment to a multinational security mission to restore order.

In Southern Command's statement, it said Washington remained committed to those goals.

"Our embassy remains focused on advancing U.S. government efforts to support the Haitian people, including mobilizing support for the Haitian National Police, expediting the deployment of the United Nations-authorized Multinational Security Support (MSS) mission and accelerating a peaceful transition of power via free and fair elections," it said.

A Tribute to Pastor David Hernquist, Servant Leader Extraordinaire

Rev David Hernquist Rev David Hernquist We are deeply saddened by the passing of Pastor David Hernquist, our dear friend and Ministry Colleague here at Intercessory Prayer Ministry International (PMI). He passed away on December 16 after battling pancreatic cancer. Pastor Hernquist was an ordained minister of the Assemblies of God denomination and served as the Senior Pastor of Van Nest Assembly of God Church in the Bronx for over 33 years. During his tenure, the church flourished into a multicultural, multi-generational evangelistic community with five services every Sunday and various ministry programs and activities throughout the week. In addition to serving as a Pastor, he also held different leadership positions in the denomination, including as a Presbyter for many years.

Pastor Hernquist was a veteran of the global prayer movement for several decades. He had a heart and a passion for the revival, healing, and transformation of nations, starting right here in New York City. Consequently, he was actively involved in various NYC prayer and evangelistic initiatives, such as March for Jesus, Bronx National Day of Prayer, Bronx Clergy Task Force, the Billy Graham Crusade, and the Annual Pastors Prayer Summit hosted by Concerts of Prayer Greater New York. He served as a board member of the organization for many years.

Since joining IPMI as an Advisory Board member in 2008, Pastor Hernquist has served the organization faithfully and exceptionally well at various times as an advisor, Conference Speaker, Planning Committee Chairman of the Annual Pastors and Leaders Prayer Symposium, and Facilitator of the First Friday Monthly Global Prayer Call (MGPT).

Those of us who knew Pastor Hernquist very well and benefited from his enormous love, wealth of experience, wisdom, profound humility, and exemplary prayer life demonstrated through his passionate prayer for the nations all shared our grief at the news of his passing. Pastor Hernquist has made an indelible mark on our lives here at IPMI and will long be remembered.

As we honor the life of this great servant leader at IPMI, let us cherish the remarkable legacy he has left behind, a legacy that was built and nurtured through prayer.

Praise God the Father

Let's also thank Him for blessing us with every spiritual blessing in heavenly places through Jesus Christ, our Redeemer, and Exalted King. Finally, let's express our gratitude for His abiding grace and peace in our lives, which assure us of His presence even in these difficult times.

GPS 2023 Prayer Session Three

Prophetic Intercession

"Prophetic intercession is something said or done in the natural which impacts the spiritual and produces the will of God in the natural. It releases the divine energy of God to change IMPOSSIBLE situations. It prepares the way for God to do something."

Welcome to Prayer Session Three, a focused time of prayer centered on Rev. Mary Glazier's GPS 2023 message titled "Prophetic Intercession." We are delighted to invite you to join us during this prayer session to intercede for a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon the Church, bringing healing and transformation to the nations. As you pray along with us regarding the following requests, kindly consider sharing the prayer agenda produced by Rev. Glazier with others and inviting them to join you in prayer. Thank you.

Click Here to watch the video.

Let us begin our time of prayer with a time of Praise to the Lord:

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.

Praise Him for our redemption through his blood and forgiveness of sins.

Praise Hime for the riches of His grace He freely bestows on us through Christ.

Next, let us affirm our position in Christ to enable us to engage in Spiritual warfare based on Paul's instructions in Ephesians 6: 13 - 17 to put on the Armor of God:

Acknowledge our full authority and dominion purchased for us through Jesus (Heb. 2:7-8). Therefore, boldly declare that we have the authority to enforce the rule of Christ in every area (home, church, business, city, nation).  Being fully clothed in His armor, we are not afraid to address demonic strongholds, principalities, powers, and wickedness in high places.

Next, let us intercede for a New Outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the Body of Christ, resulting in a manifestation of His gifts for the transformation of nations:

PROPHECY: 1 TIMothy 1:18

Using God's powerful weapon of prophecy, we declare and decree the full power of prophetic words to transform our nations.

Make bold declarations of the words spoken over your nation.

Cast down and render impotent every curse, chant, incantation, word spoken by the enemy.

TONGUES & INTERPRETATION: 1 Corinthians 14:5_

Decree that a fresh anointing for tongues and interpretation to come forth.

Bind unbelief and release faith

Pray for a mighty baptism of the Holy Ghost and FIRE!

Intercede for Spiritual Renewal and Growth in the Church Worldwide based on Ephesians  6:14

Decree renewed faith in the infallible word of God.

Decree a boldness to believe God's word that applies to you individually and corporately.

Recognizing the multiplied power of unity, boldly come against division, hatred, bitterness, strife, personal agendas, and partisanship.

Command forgiveness where there is unforgiveness.

Bind separation, isolation, and orphan spirit.

Finally, ask our wonderful heavenly Father to release His Agape love upon us without measure that we might be changed into one new soul.

(The prayer agenda is produced by Rev. Mary Glazier)

Meet GPS 2023 Speaker: Emeka Nwankpa

Emeka Nwankpa, Esq.Emeka Nwankpa, Esq.On the 14th of October, 1973, Emeka committed his life to Jesus Christ during a morning service held at the Protestant Chapel at the University of Ife. A young lady had spoken to him about the faith just two days prior, and her words had been weighing heavily on his mind. Eventually, Emeka apprehended a powerful conviction that led him to give his life to the Lord. He received a clear calling from God in November 1973, and he was later ordained for the ministry by Pastor S.G. Elton in 1981 after being discipled by him for several years.

After obtaining his law degree from the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) in 1977 and the Nigeria Law School, Lagos, in 1979, Emeka started a thriving legal practice and made several appearances before the Nigeria Supreme Court. He became the coordinating secretary for the Christian Students Social Movement (CSSM) from 1977 to 1981. Eventually, he left his legal practice to answer the Lord’s call to full-time ministry years later. In the early 1990s, he helped establish Intercessors for Nigeria (IFN), a national network of intercessors who pray for the nation and its leaders. Emeka also helped establish Intercessors for Africa (IFA), working alongside other Christians across the continent and became the coordinator. The main objective of (IFA) is intercession for the establishment of God’s purpose in Africa and facilitating unity among God's people in fulfilling the primary task of reaching the world with the message of the Gospel and making disciples of all nations.

In 1997, while attending an Africa Prayer Convocation in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Emeka was called to establish the Sundoulos African Leadership Training (SALT) Program. This program aims to train servant leaders who can apply biblical principles to government and all levels of public life.

In addition to his involvement in the leadership of the prayer movement in Nigeria and across Africa over the past 40 years, Emeka has been actively involved in the Global Prayer Movement, working with the International Fellowship of Intercessors and the International Christian Chamber of Commerce (ICC), where he serves as an advisor.

He is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of IFN and IFA. He is also the Chairman of the Sundoulos African Leadership Training Program. and Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Pastors/Ministers Prayer Network. Additionally, he chairs the Academic Board of the Africa Pastors and Ministers Prayer Network.  Prior to his current role as chairman of these various organizations, Emeka was Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council at Abia State University. He also served on the Committee of Pro-Chancellors of Nigerian Universities and chaired the Federal Competition & Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) of the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment.
