2005 Annual Prayer Breakfast Highlights

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Hundreds were attracted to the ninth annual prayer breakfast, which was held at the Holiday Inn JFK Airport, Jamaica, New York on Saturday, June 18. The event was viewed by many as a wonderful satisfying experience. What were some of the highlights?

Music Ministry

Pastor Herbert Campbell, and a team of musician from Christ Church in Mississippi , did an excellent job, through their anointed music ministry, to bring down the presence of God in the room that was packed with Christians from various churches across the United States and the Caribbean.

Perspective on the Nations

Bishop Peter Morgan, founding member of IPMI Advisory Board, provided a very informative and interesting report on a number of the social and economic issues affecting the United States and the Caribbean . Some of these issues included:

•  Judicial appointments in the US ;

•  Important developments in the Caribbean region, including the problem of crime and violence in Jamaica and Trinidad ; political developments in Haiti ; issues related to justice, including matters related to the Caribbean Court of Appeal, which was recently established to replace the Privy Council as the final Court of Appeal for nations in the region.

Following Bishop Morgan’s report there was a corporate time of prayer. Interestingly, two vacancies now exist in the Supreme Court with the recent resignation of Justice Sandra Day O’Connor and the death of Chief Justice, William Renquist.

Ministry of the Word

Rev. Dr. David Ireland, Senior Pastor of Christ Church in New Jersey was this year’s guest speaker. A great preacher and communicator, Dr. Ireland engaged the audience with his excellent message on the subject of prayer. Using the parable of the Unjust Judge in Luke 18 to support his theme on the importance of persistence in prayer, Dr. Ireland challenged his captivated audience on the importance of personal success in prayer as a critical component to corporate success in intercession.
