Dr. Valerie Kerr’s Profile

 

Dr. Valerie Kerr has been walking with the Lord for the past 32 years and was ordained as leader of the Prophetic Ministry  at the Covenant City Church, Kingston, Jamaica in 2012. She has also led the Praise & Worship Ministry and volunteers as one of the Pharmacists in the church’s monthly Medical Clinic. Her husband, Dennis, has served as a pastor of the Covenant City Church for more than 20 years. They have been married for the past 40 years and together they have 4 adult children and 3 grandchildren. The Rhema Words that guide her purpose are Romans 12:2 and Ephesians 4:12. She has a heart to see the Body of Christ fulfil its mandate in the earth for the glory of God and the saving of the nations.

In addition to a Doctoral Degree in Pastoral Ministry from Trinity College of the Bible and Theological Seminary in Indiana, USA, Dr. Kerr holds a DBA with major in Health Services Management from Nova Southeastern University. She has worked in both public and private sector organizations at the executive management level and has sat on a number of task and advisory groups to provide expertise in national development planning and administrative reform with specific focus on the health sector. As a freelance consultant for the past 9 years, Dr. Kerr has been involved in short-term and medium-term consultancies in public health and administration throughout the Caribbean, Liberia, Ghana, Eritrea and Myanmar. Currently, Dr. Kerr is a lecturer and researcher with the University of the West Indies.

Through Renewal Ministries International (RMI), the ministry arm of her company, Dr. Kerr equips Christians for ministry and provides family and personal counselling services. She hosts a weekly blog called Transformation Today targeted towards the equipping of the saints.

Dr. Kerr has served as the Chairman and Advisor for the Joy Town Learning Centre, an early childhood institution, located in the inner city community of Trench Town in Jamaica since October 2010. Her hobbies are swimming, reading, writing and playing the violin.
